The future of human evolution: a positive feedback loop with negative effects

Abstract

Because of immense advances in the fields of medicine and biomedical technologies and better social care for everyone, the future of natural human evolution doesn't look pretty good. As many people on this planet receive good medical care, the selective pressure in our evolution gets removed. As such, bad mutations are allowed to flourish in our population. Genetic drift can slowly take over of our future evolution, which basically we're doomed if we're left with natural evolution. And as more medical treatments will arise for the mutations in humans, more and more worse mutants will be allowed to invade the human population. As this positive feedback loop is pretty bad for our natural evolution, unforeseen negative effects of a really advanced medical technology will become widespread, and hard to deal with.
