Get wifi going on a Raspberry Pi

I find the following contents of /etc/network/interfaces the easiest way to get wifi (a Linksys dongle on a Apple Airport network) working on the Raspberry Pi:

auto lo

iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet dhcp

auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp [tab]wpa-ssid "SSIDNAME" [tab]wpa-psk "PASSWORD"

Replace SSIDNAME and PASSWORD with your local settings and the [tab]s with actual tabs!

Use

sudo ifup wlan0

to start the network and use ifdown to stop it.
